The U.S. Wawona Packing Company took preventive action to recall its nectarine products with packaging dates from June 1 to July 12, 2014, as the company found that these products might be contaminated with Listeria Monocytogenes.

Investigation of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of the Ministry of Health and Welfare found that nectarines (sweet peaches) from Wawona Packing Company had records of importing to Taiwan (108.45 tonnes in total), and demanded that the firm initiate a recall to take them off the shelves. The business later reported that all the products were sent to traditional markets and individual fruit stores; most were sold out as they were fresh products. The FDA will instruct its subordinate health bureaus to continue the investigation.
